How to Keep Your Skin Looking Good on Holidays

It’s school holiday season, which means it’s time to pack the kids into the car, slop on some sunscreen and head to the beach! We love getting away from it all, but travelling can mean extra stress for your skin, particularly when you don’t have suitcase room for all of your favourite beauty products! Today we thought we would share some of our favourite tips for keeping your skin in tip top shape, even when you’re on the road.

  1. Wear sunscreen, every day. We love a mineral based sunblock like zinc oxide. If you pack one thing into your carry-on, make it sunscreen. Wear a hat, sunglasses and pick you time in the sun thoughtfully, your skin will thank you for it!

  2. Tailor your skincare to the environment. If you’re headed for the slopes, pack a more protective moisturiser that will replenish your skin after exposure to sun, wind and cold. If you’ll be poolside, something lighter will give your skin a break in the heat and humidity. We love Dermaviduals customised base creams with specific active concentrates added to boost the moisturiser.

  3. Multi-purpose skincare is worth its weight in carry-on. Dermaviduals Cleansing Milk cleans the skin and protects the skinny giving back moisture, meaning more space in your suitcase for souvenirs!

  4. Holidays are the perfect excuse to give your skin a break from daily makeup, if that’s something you like to do. If you can’t resist a light layer, make sure it’s a perfect match to your skin tone meaning you can use a little less. We create custom Dermaviduals foundation for our clients, mixing customised pigments specific to their skin colouring. Visit us in the clinic today to get your perfect match.

  5. Drink lots of water. Again, this is something we’d advise every day, but it’s easily forgotten when you are out and about on holidays. Pack a beautiful, reusable water bottle and you won’t be sorry!

  6. Book in for a facial when you get back – it will prolong that holiday vibe and will help you ‘reset’ your skin after a few weeks of not treating it so well!
